PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM

The Professional Diploma Programs at the Asian Institute of Media and Communication Bangladesh (AIMC) are designed to provide intensive, hands-on training across various fields of media and communication. Each program is structured over one year, divided into three academic terms followed by a final term dedicated to a comprehensive, real-world project. Throughout the year, students engage in rigorous coursework, with each term comprising a minimum of 12 credits. The final term is focused on a significant 12-credit project, allowing students to apply their learning in a professional setting.

In total, the diploma program encompasses 39 credits, offering a well-rounded education that combines creativity with industry-relevant skills. 3.              Photojournalism Techniques (4 Credits)

Techniques for capturing newsworthy images under various conditions.

 

Term 2:

 

4.              Documentary Photography for Social Change (4 Credits)

Using photography to highlight social issues and drive change.

 

5.              Fieldwork in Documentary Photography (4 Credits)

Practical fieldwork, including assignments in different environments.

 

6.              Editing and Sequencing Documentary Images (4 Credits)

Selecting and sequencing images to tell a coherent story.

 

Term 3:

 

7.              Documentary Photography in Conflict Zones (4 Credits)

Challenges and techniques for working in conflict or crisis areas.

 

8.              Ethics and Legal Issues in Documentary Photography (4 Credits)

Understanding the ethical and legal considerations in documentary work.

 

9.              Multimedia Storytelling (4 Credits)

Combining photography with other media, such as video or audio, to create powerful narratives.

 

Term 4:

 

10.           Final Documentary Photography Project (12 Credits)

A major project where students complete a documentary photography series on a chosen topic.
